The ladies of the Theta Xi chapter of Phi Sigma Sigma chose Breast Cancer Awareness as another local philanthropy. Some events that we have hosted include Pink Pumpkin Patch, TaTa Tailgate, Manicure for the Cure, our annual Breast Cancer Awareness Dinner, and PHIrst Love, which is a couples game show co-sponsored with Zeta Phi Beta.
In recognition of April being Autism Awareness month, the sisters of the Theta Xi chapter of Phi Sigma Sigma chose that their biggest spring philanthropy event, Stroll-Off, be an effort to raise autism awareness and autism acceptance. Autism Spectrum Disorders are neurodevelopmetal disorders characterized by impaired social interaction, verbal, and non-verbal communication, and restricted and repetitive behavior. Many of our sisters have family members and friends that are on the spectrum, and it is our mission to promote not only awarness of autism, but acceptance. The Theta Xi chapter particpates in autism awarness walks, volunteer hours, and hosting a week of activities promoting acceptance of ASD.
Leadership Through Service
As stated in our creed, the ladies of Phi Sigma Sigma believe that a woman who serves is a woman who leads. Our chapter devotes ourselves at all times to uphold our ideals through philanthropic endeavors. Our chapter raises thousands of dollars each year for our national and local philanthropies.
